The canteen is unlocked by the Social Rooms technology in the Materials Tech Tree. Like the workshop is can accommodate various interior facilities, though none that are involved in the growing of plants.
It has reasonable protection against solar radiation and serves as a connection point to bring power, water and oxygen into the habitat.
It has six slots where the interior facilities can be build with no special usage requirement assigned to any of them. It also has a power socket next to one of the exits that can be used to recharge suit power.
As with other large habitat buildings, any interior facilities may increase the power requirement of the building.
