Cultivation in Occupy Mars is the primary source of [[Food]]. Various seed types are available with each end product providing a certain range of sustenance to the character.

Cultivated plants can be combined in the food processor to create MREs that will not (at the time of writing) perish over time, whereas the raw vegetable/fruit will.

The [[Greenhouse]] and the various Domes are dedicated buildings for cultivation. The [[Plant Incubator|Incubator]] and [[Small Hydroponic Shelf|Hydroponic Shelf]] stations can be built in the [[Workshop]] and the Greenhouse ([[Large Hydroponic Shelf]] in the Greenhouse), with the [[Field]] being dedicated to the Greenhouse. Plants require at least one of the cultivation stations (Hydroponic Shelf, Field, Dome) with the added option of performing the initial stage of growing the plant in the Incubator station. Incubating can (but not always) lead to a bonus yield for the final product.

Growing plants and the final products can be composted to create Nitrogen Fertilizer in the [[Composter]].
