The Container is a trailer attachment for the Heavy Rover, used as a general-purpose item storage, and a source of materials for the rover's Welder operation.
The Container has a control panel on it, that allows Player to rename it (useful for distinuishing them, especially when stored inside the Big Rock Crusher) and/or interact with its inventory.
