The Transformer Upgrade expands the number of Power Input and Output Ports of the Transformer (ECU). Up to 4 Upgrades can be attached to a single ECU, each adding 8 inputs and 8 outputs.
Since another Transformer requires a Small Circuit Board, the Transformer Upgrade is a lower cost method of managing power distribution. It also reduces the equipment footprint and provides reduced control panel interface time.
Power Input Ports can be connected to the Power Output Port of any of the following:
- Solar Panel
- Battery Pack
- Another Transformer
Power Output Ports can be connected to the Power Input Port of any of the following:
- Battery Pack
- Another Transformer
- Habitat or Support Building
It requires unlocking via the Industrial Energy Converters technology unlock within the Electricity Tech Tree.
